Kitchen Strip Out — Sydney, Newcastle & Central Coast
Kitchens are the densest, most utility-heavy room in the house and the trickiest to strip cleanly. Stone benchtops weigh the better part of a tonne, gas connections need shutting and capping in the right order, and the splashback tiles almost always run behind the cabinets that have to come out first. We've done this thousands of times — terrace kitchens in Newtown, harbour-view apartment kitchens in North Sydney, restaurant kitchens behind shopfronts on King Street, and full-house kitchens in the new estates of Penrith and Campbelltown.|Our kitchen strip-out crews work in a fixed sequence that protects your floor, your splashbacks (where you want to keep them), and the building's services. Cabinets and pantry first, splashback and tiles second, plumbing and gas isolations checked, then benchtops cut down for safe lifting, then appliances out, then everything in the skip and the room handed back to you swept clean. Most residential kitchens come down in a single day. Commercial kitchens are scoped per site.

Our Process
- Site Walk & Quote — On site or via photos — we map the layout, identify any structural columns or services that influence the strip sequence, and quote in writing within 24 hours.
- Service Isolations — Power, water and gas isolated and capped before we touch a cabinet. We coordinate with your sparky, plumber and gasfitter (or recommend ours) so isolations are done by the right trade with the right paperwork.
- Cabinetry & Joinery Out — Upper cabinets, lowers, pantry and island all removed by hand. Joinery is broken down inside the skip rather than out on the driveway so neighbours and pedestrians are kept clear.
- Benchtops, Splashback & Floor — Stone benchtops cut into liftable sections, splashback tiles and substrate removed cleanly, and any old flooring lifted where the rebuild calls for it.
- Skip Removal & Handover — Skip removed same day, kitchen swept clean, photographs sent to you for your records, room handed over ready for cabinet measure or framing trades the very next morning.
Why Choose Us
- Service-Trade Coordination — Kitchens have more service connections than any other room. We coordinate plumbers, sparkies and gasfitters on the day so every isolation is done compliantly and the job doesn't lose half a day waiting for a callout.
- Stone & Heavy Bench Specialists — Stone benchtops are the most-injuring item on any kitchen strip out. Our crews are trained on safe cutting and two-person lifting techniques, and we carry the gear to cut stone in place rather than dragging slabs across your floor.
- Restaurant & Cafe Experienced — We strip commercial and restaurant kitchens regularly — exhaust canopies, grease traps, gas banks and walk-in coldrooms all in our wheelhouse, with after-hours scheduling so trade isn't interrupted.
- Clean Floor Handover — Floors are protected from front door to kitchen at the start and swept clean at the end. Adhesives, screws and offcuts are caught at source rather than ground into your timber boards.
FAQs
How long does a kitchen strip out take?
Most residential kitchens are stripped in a single day. Commercial and restaurant kitchens with exhaust canopies, walk-in coldrooms and grease-trap pump-outs typically run 1 to 2 nights of after-hours work.
Do you cap the gas and water?
Service isolations are done by licensed plumbers and gasfitters — yours or ours. We don't perform plumbing or gas work, but we coordinate the trades so they're on site at the right point in the strip-out sequence.
Can you save the appliances for resale or donation?
Yes. Tell us at quoting time which items you want preserved (oven, dishwasher, rangehood, fridge cavity etc.) and we'll set them aside intact rather than disposing of them.
How do you handle stone benchtops?
Stone benchtops are cut into liftable sections in place using a wet-cut diamond blade, then carried out by two-person teams. This avoids the dropped-slab risk that breaks slabs and floors.
Do you do restaurant or cafe kitchens?
Yes, regularly. Restaurant strip outs are usually scheduled overnight or across a quiet weekend so trade can resume on Monday. We coordinate exhaust canopy removal, grease trap pump-outs and refrigeration disconnections.
What about asbestos in older kitchens?
Pre-1985 kitchens often have bonded asbestos in vinyl floor underlay, wall sheeting and eaves. We hold the SafeWork NSW licence so removal, air monitoring and clearance documentation are all part of one job.
